Chiropractic
is the healthcare discipline that emphasizes the inherent recuperative
powers of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery.
The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure
(primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system)
and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of
health. The word chiropractic means “done by hand”. Care in our office
begins with a thorough medical history and a complete orthopedic, neurologic,
and chiropractic examination. X-rays are taken when indicated.
We have x-ray facilities on the premises. After this examination we review
all the findings and test results with you. Your treatment program will
be explained and any questions will be answered. Your care may include
any or all of the following: Chiropractic adjustment, soft tissue (muscle)
techniques, physiotherapy (ultrasound, traction, electrical stimulation,
ice and heat), rehabilitative exercise and nutritional support. We recognize
the value and responsibility of working with other health care professionals
and both co-treat and refer to many local physicians. If your primary
care physician resists referring to a chiropractor, please refer him or
her to this web site and our office for more information.

Dr.
Iselborn holds advanced fellowship status with the International Academy
of Medical Acupuncture. Acupuncture treatment involves: First, an Electro-Meridian
Imaging (EMI) examination is performed (also known as a Ryodoraku examination).
This examination determines if the body’s Acupuncture meridians are out
of balance, and tells the doctor which Acupuncture points to treat. Acupuncture
treatment takes 15-20 minutes and may involve the application of a mild
electrical stimulation to the needles. We use only sterile, disposable
needles. If a patient is averse to the needles, non-invasive manual,
electrical or laser stimulation may be used. Chinese herbal formulas,
Ionic Trace Mineral Drops, and the Infratonic Qi Gong Machine (QGM) are
used in conjunction with the Acupuncture treatment.
